ScubaX
I ran the battery down on my iPhone 6+ to 65% and then attached it to the Z-130BT with the lightning cable to 30 pin adapter and it worked fine - no errors. While playing I disconnected the phone and reconnected it and it work fine. While checking out Aha Radio, Pandora and playing a movie from an SD card it charged the iPhone to 73%. So I would recommend updating the firmware on the AVIC and use the latest IOS 8 version. Specs for clarity: Z-130BT with firmware and software version of 5.000 upgraded using link I provided above and courtesy of misterwoofwoof. iPhone 6+ 128GB IOS 8.0.2 AVIC cable is Pioneer D-IU51V Hope this helps. Mountaindewbass
Alright I guess I'll try v 5.0 and see if it works. Are you using the small 30 pin adapter? Or the one with a tail?

Mountaindewbass
It worked! Phone is at 50% and is charging. Whatever was in the 5.0 update fixed it. Since this is my first iPhone with this car set up. What's aha radio? Any apps for iOS that work great for the car ?
Jsoledout
So I'm having the same issue with my iPhone 6 running on iOS 8.1 . Here's what I've found to be true: When my iPhone is severely drained of battery (oddly enough the time when I need to plug it in the most), it gives me the error message However I put it to the test, I don't get the error message with my battery above 60 percent. I also have found - and oddly enough never needed to use it before- that my Bluetooth does not connect to my phone.
rlogan30
So I'm having a similar problem although perhaps not the same as some of you all. I am using the Pioneer CD-IU50V iPod / iPhone Interface Cable I purchased from Amazon. That connects to the Apple Lightning to 30 pin adaptor. When I connect it up the stereo identifies the iPhone and I can use Pandora and the iPod functions. However, I am unable to use the cool app features such as Netflix. I did do the firmware update to v.5.0 firmware. I'm on IOS 8.1.1. If someone figures this out please let me know what all you found out.
marko850
Pioneer released a recent (12-5-14) firmware update 3.002 http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/GPS-Navigation/AVIC-X930BT I installed it and everything is right with the world again. That was an annoying three months. Streaming tunes and playing through bluetooth without charging wreaks havoc on my phone battery life.
