1.08 update and Maesrtro STILL no FADER.

Recommended Posts

Flashed maestro and pioneer and now using digital controls and still no fader controls on Radio. Confirmed with Pioneer they will NOT have an update for the 2014 NEX lines to included digital fader/guages etc with the HU and will be in teh 2015 model line up.

What a HUGE dissapointment.

2015 wrangler with Alpine factory amp.

Um yes it has been.. Who the hell upgrades a radio to lose their factory options. Unfortunately because there is a lot of misinfo on the product and Pioneer advertises all over the place about its a maestro compatible product but doesn't use a majority of the compatibility options like Kenwood or Alpine its a joke.

If you don't understand then you a: are not an audiophile and actually use your radio or just ignorant to the issues...  WOW. I am sure there are many others who want to know the truth about the limited BETA functionality of these NEX units.

The Maestro information relating to Pioneer and recent Ford vehicles is a bit confusing to me. I got an 8000NEX with a Maestro RR with the F01 harness installed in my 2011 Ford Super Duty as of August this year. That combination works great but completely eliminates Ford Sync. Just upgraded the Pioneer to 1.08 - works great! Checked with iDataLink to see if there is an upgrade for the Maestro. There is as of October 1,\2014 just before Pioneer released their 1.08 update. Apparently there is support for Ford Sync now (there was none back in August). Of course, I don't think that Ford Sync adds anything that I don't already have in spades with the 8000NEX - CarPlay/Siri and the enhanced steering wheel controls. I'll play with upgrading the Maestro firmware next month when I'll have a bit more time.

Meanwhile check this out:

Well, that was meant to be a question, not an affirmative statement.  I'm shocked you got so upset.  That said, a google search reveals this "Pioneer: 2014 AVIC-NEX series receiver; the Pioneer AVIC-NEX series receivers will require a firmware update (coming soon) in order to retain Ford Sync, GM OnStar, and Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep U-Connect (coming soon)."

Plenty of people upgrade their radios and lose factory options.  Some people just don't read the information on what they are buying, and feel like they've been slighted.

The rest of your rant doesn't make sense.

Right.. Well considering teh people at crutchfield also didnt know and the people at EVERY installation place I have talked to and visited gave me bad information and the info you posted is from Idatalink and the people at Idatalink and i quote said " pioneer really screwed this up" and their customer service department has been hammered with upset customers who were mislead... right... makes no sense. SO thats why I am putting it out there. You are clearly a fan boy but I am interested in making sure others dont go through what I have. If you have a chrysler vehicle and have a digital amp or high end factory system and looking for maestro compatibility do NOT buy a pioneer. That simple. If you dont care about controlling any audio settings then have at it. And considering I have had more aftermarket radios in my tie then you will ever dream of your statement lots of people lose functionality etc is a load of crap. This is the FIRST time I have ever had an issue like this. Marketing BS.
