D3 install in 2004 F150

Recommended Posts

I'm sure you get tired of answering everyone's questions but.... I am working on my install. I soldered and heat shrank all my connections between the radio harness and the adapter. Is there any reason not to connect the black grounds together to use the harness ground? Or is it best to keep them separate? I also am a little worried about my bypass. the wire feels slightly loose. It may move 1/16 or so. I don't want this connection to break later. Is there anything I can do to tighten it. I did have it aligned correctly and have pushed it into the socket as far as I can.

thanks for all your help. I have been watching this board for awhile as I planned my install.

I'll seond that one. Factory as f*ck.

What in-dash installation kit do you guys use when installing the D3 into the new Ford dash?

As I ordered mine from Crutchfield, I'll have the freebie kit that comes with the D3.

Do you prefer another mounting kit?
