doesn't seem too bad to do. why don't you give it a try?

I only heard of soldering to bypass
noob here, I just read on soundomain about that soldering bypass, did anyone actually try it to see if it worked?

Yes it works. But instead of solder, go to Radio Shack and pick up a circuit tracing pen. Then take the silver sticker off the bottom of the unit, and you will see the two points and just use the Circuit Tracing Pen and draw a line between the points. I have done this and it has lasted over 6 months now and it eliminated having to get the solder iron out and a little Isoprop Alcohol and a Q-Tip and you can remove the trace, where solder is a little more permanent.
