NavTraffic with Sirius

haven't used it yet. I agree they're probably identical in performance and probably use the same data feeds.

The alpine/sirius version has kept me out of some major jams around chicago and has the capability to reroute you around traffic.

What will the merger mean for sirius users with a sirius tuner connected to a d-2. Will I finally be able to get station names on the display. I was thinking of going XM just to have a screen that actually diplays the XM material, but now I don't know what to do?

It could be a year before we know if the merger goes through and probably longer until we see new equipment. I can tell you that with the current sirius stuff, you will never get more than one line of information at a time or station logos or the ability to name your presets, so if thats what your looking for, get XM
