Paul1965
When I try to use the slope reading in the VDD screen, I get a message that "This function is currently unavailable". I see nothing in the manual that really tells you how to "set it up". I have only two connections left off, the VSS and reverse light, so I don't see that those should be affecting it. Everything else works great. Any ideas?
NYRngrs24
You do have to drive about 50- 100miles ithink before some things become active.
Paul1965
So far, I've put over 600 miles on the car since installing the N1 last week, so I don't think that's the issue. But, thanks anyway!
Paul1965
Problem solved. Without a speed signal, the learning status stays in "Simple Hybrid". Once I hooked up the speed signal and drove the car, it went into 3D Hybrid, and now slope works :P

If the nav knows how fast you were moving on the ground using VSS, and it knows two GPS fixes, it can calculate that there must have been a certain degree of positive or negative slope involved. At least that is what I think it might be doing. By the way, 3D is much more accurate than Simple. I didn't have the VSS either for a few weeks, and it was way off. Now its very accurate. NORDS
I have the same problem but whats weird about it is that I see the red indicator moving and it seem to be acurate. So is their another way to make this work? Everything else work perfectly.

It's dark green/yellow at the ECM on the lower driver side of the engine, 50 pin plug, pin 11.

cntrylvr79
IF your stock radio had speed controlled volume, look for a gray/black wire in the radio harness. That will be your vss. Otherwise here ya go. Speed Sense gray/black cruise control module Notes: The cruise control module is on the driver side fender.
