Will the D3 control the power on a connected ipod?

In other words, will an ipod connected to a d3 turn on when the d3 turns on (and turn off when the d3 turns off) or do I have to manually turn on the ipod?

 

Basically, what I would like to have happen is:

 

1. I'm in the car listening to the ipod through the d3.

2. I shut off the ignition and the d3 and ipod both turn off.

3. I turn the ignition back on and the d3 and ipod both come on automatically and whatever I was listening to on the ipod starts playing with no interaction from me.

 

Is this possible?
