George01v6
Is this a flaw of the AVIC-D3 or the GEX-P10XMT? It spews out like 15-20 characters and cuts off the rest without scrolling it. Anyone know of a way around this?
datahex10000
I think all Pioneers do that. I have an Avic Z1, N3, and a Premier Deh-P980Bt using the GEX-P10 and the GEX-P920, and none of them scroll XM. The Deh-P980BT has an everscroll mode that works on everything but XM. It's really annoying since my $50 Delphi XM unit I use with the boombox scrolls everything and a $2000 Pioneer with a $200 XM tuner can't.
SuperH
It's a limitation of the receiver. The receiver looks at the ARTIST and TITLE strings, and neglects extended titles (which came later). When XM launched, artists and titles could only be sixteen characters. The receivers for the Pioneer units are based on this limitation.
Dan1701z
I thought it was because pioneer makes all their xm recievers to be backwards compatable with their older "ip bus" stereos. Its cool if you have a old stereo running xm but if you fork out 2k for stereo equipment it kinda sucks. Dan
