How can I hook up the factory tv on my 2002 Ford Excursion?

Recommended Posts

I have a d3 and I would like to hook up my factory rear tv on my 2002 Ford Excursion so that the tv in the back displays what I am watching on my D3.

My factory dvd player has an input so I can hook into it and drive it from there. The problem I have is the factory tv and dvd player will not light up without the factory cd player installed. Does anyone know what I need to do to power these two up so I can send my d3 signal back to it?

ford factory dvd sucks. some units can be jumped to work. others need the stock radio relocaed. and some are data that you cant do anythig with. your better off putting in an aftermarket rear dvd, then you can do anything you want

I am looking to do the same set up (hook up factory rear moniter to d3) in my nissan titan. So far with all the research that i have read, it can't be done but i still feel there is a way around it. If or when, hopefully when, I figure it out I will post how to. Also if anyone has already figured it out please let me know. Apparently I need to power the moniter with 5v's.

I would not mind putting in an aftermarket flip down, the problem I have is the tv is built into an overhead console that would have to be removed, then I wouldnt have my rear ac controls, and my headliner would look like crap. I would think there has to be a way to power up the tv and dvd player somehow. I just gotta figure out how to get power to it.
