CD-BTB200 & Bluetooth Phone Compatibility Guide

Recommended Posts

For what the unit costs, this BT deserves a class action suit. Most of us have partial use of the features & it amazes that Pioneer does not even bother to say what phones are intended to work with it. This tells me it was not even tested. What a deal!

Ummm, wouldn't this be more of a issue with the phones/providers not the BT? Some phones work just fine, some don't. Some providers lock up features, some don't. I don't see how Pioneer could possible check every existing phone from all the providers.

For the Droid you need to get the Bluetooth File Transfer program in the app Marketplace. Then you need to make sure that you disable the a2dp portion of the bluetooth handshake ie media on the phone

Thank you for contacting Pioneer Electronics, Inc.

Pioneer does not have a phone compatible list. However you can check with the cell service provider to see if your cell phone have the following profiles.

This profiles are require to make your phone Bluetooth compatible.

GAP (Generic Access Profile)

SDP (Service Discovery Protocol)

HSP ( Head Set Profile)

HFP (Hands Free Profile)

Phone Book Transfer: Yes. but has to be done entry by entry.

Voice Calling: Yes, but prompts do not come through

Has anyone gotten the voice prompts to work with a Verizon phone? My call to Pioneer support resulted in them telling me this feature does not work with US phones, only European, which is difficult to believe. Replaced the LG with a newer phone (the W385), but to no avail. Both work perfect with my bluetooth headset. I have 7 days to replace the new phone if there is a compatible one out there.
