VSS for 2007 Chevy Silverado CLASSIC Old Body Style

Recommended Posts

WEll you can get it at the pcm, the same color.

The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) is in the left front of the engine compartment to the left of the fan shroud.

On gas models, the VSS wire is in the green plug, pin 50.

On diesel models, the VSS wire is in the black 58 pin plug, pin 42.

Never had a problem with te dozen or so I've done in the last few months. If those don't work you can get the new version of the metra gmos01. That gives you reverse, vss, parking brake, and illumination right at the radio harness.

The VSS is pin A4, green/white stripe, behind cluster on 2000-2006. On the older models(2000-2002) you could also find it behind the radio. On anything newer than 03 the green/white wire behind the radio will not work. GM switched to a mic for ambeint noise controled volume and no longer used the speed sense. FYI if you disconnect the VSS from the cluster the speedo will not work, but your odometer will not gain miles either. That's why I love the speedo on the AVIC. Just don't cut the wire, you want more warranty not a voided warranty. PM for details.
