White/Black wire located at the power distribution box. Power distribution box is located near the driver's fender in a single wire plug.

I have searched through this entire post and also looked on rostra.com and the12volt.com and neither had my vehicle. I have a 2006 Ford Expedition XLT. I did find a post on an 04 expedition, but I know some things changed between those models. Any help would be much appreciated.

Update on an 06 Expedition
Reverse Wire - Black / Violet Wire, not Black/Pink. (Trial and Error)
VSS - Not really sure how to test this well, but there was a Grey/Black wire going to the wiper motor so I tapped that.

Also just a note, I figured this out the hard way, unless you either grounded your the green wire or you tied it to the parking brake, you can't access your settings, change language, etc. I thought the unit was defective when I first installed it, and then just decided to go ahead and try grounding the cable and see if that was it. I thought it was stuck in some demo mode. Anyhow maybe my stupidity will help someone else.

Also to note, I change the pioneer.ini file speed setting to 256 instead of 128 and it works. As others have pointed out 128km represents about 80mph. So I will test going above 80 this week and see if it still works.

2008 Kia Sedona
The http://www.rostra.com/techsupport-main.asp website did not have information about the Kia Sedona. Does anyone know where I can find the VSS wire and the reverse wire for the 2008 Kia Sedona? Thanks in advance!

Howdy.

I've been running my Z1 for two years now without the vss hooked up. The nav system absolutely does not need it.

I have a 2006 Jetta with the vss on the CAN bus, so it isn't available without an expensive adapter.

At best, the vss signal is used to estimate vehicle position when in a tunnel or downtown area with tall buildings where a sat loss may occur. Even when I am in those areas, my Z1 tracks beautifully.

So to sum up, it has never been hooked up, and my nav works perfectly. Keep in mind, most NAVs are window units which work just fine without the vss as well.
