How To: Find your Vehicle's VSS Wire.

VSS is yellow with a white stripe at the diagnostic plug under the dash, and reverse is red with a blue stripe in the driver's kick panel.

If you have the 6 disc changer. It's gray/black at the radio harness. If not it's the same color at the abs module under the hood.

ive read in other posts that there is no vss wire on my car, ive located the reverse wire, but to no avail on a vss. any help would be great. someone told me i need to purchase a spreed pulse generator. any info would be great. 2006 ford 500 ltd. thanks for the help

There's pretty much always a vss wire in newer cars. It's just a maatter of what lengths you're willing to go to get it. Most common places are, transmission, abs module, wheel speed sensor, and the ecu. By the way both databases I have access to say to use a wheel speed sensor. No color info though.
