garrettoomey
First thing I would do is update your software to the newest maps/firmware and double/triple check your bypass wiring.

garrettoomey
Check the hacks section in the forum or you can purchase from pioneer. It's not a free update.
b6shmuck
Hi I am trying to do a bypass on my Avic Z-2 simply to watch DVD's in the car while driving. I'm having trouble understanding all that's necessary to do to update it because it's manufacture date is January 07. And I know I cant do the bypass without the software update. So If you know of anything that could help I would greatly appreciate it! I'm at a loss what to do because I dont know how to finalize a CD-R in single session or in mode-1 (as Pioneer mentions to do for the update) so that the Z-2 will recognize it. Also I do not have the connector 2 harness. Is that harness necessary for the 2-wire bypass or can I do it without it? Thank you!

This is not a CD authoring forum. Google is your friend. Also I do not have the connector 2 harness. Is that harness necessary for the 2-wire bypass or can I do it without it? Yes.
