avsfan
I have a z2 and I have done the two wire bypass. My unit is upgraded with the pioneer firmware (i had freezing issues). It was professionally installed the first time but installed it myself this time. (was going to return it due to freezing issues) Everything is working great except one thing. My library and any cd's or dvd's i put in dont play sound. I have not downloaded the file for the bypass but it still shows video while im driving. Do i need to put in the cd with those files for the sound to play? If not do you have any possible troubleshooting techniques. Im a rookie at all this.
garrettoomey
If video is playing, then you do not need the other update. The sound problem is a wiring issue, and can be tested by changing your auto ANT setting to 'power' per the PM that I replied to last night.
jdubsky21
So if i choose to do method number two, do i still have to do the 2-wire bypass? Or will the download file for method 2 do all of the work?
garrettoomey
You will have to do the 2 wire bypass.
jdubsky21
I had my unit professionally installed. If my Parking Brake Wire (Light Green Wire) is attached to another wire, does that mean that it is grounded? Everytime that i turn on my unit it comes up with the warning message talking about my parking brake. Does this mean that it is grounded? If not, what wire can i connect it to in order to ground it? Â Ground it..... doesn't matter how... But to give you a hinter... you can just use a quick splice and tap it into the head unit's ground....i.e... the black wire

jdubsky21
Okay.. So i did exactly what the directions said in the two wire bypass method. However, there is no change... Â What could be the problem....i checked wire 1 & 2 many times and they are situated properly.
dawgbone
What firmware do you have? If you have a very early firmware...then you will need to download the "hacked" firmware update.... The super early Z1 firmware needed the "hacked" firmware.... Â Otherwise... check your grounding...
jdubsky21
My unit is an AVIC Z2 not Z1
VBLUE42
Make sure you have the latest Z2 update. The first Z2's were unbypassable.
