Dan4flying
Is there anyone out there using a Galaxy Note edge on their NEX unit? If so did you have to root your phone? I am currently using the 8000nex with a galaxy s5. Both are running kitkat but I am unsure if there will be any hardware issues. I do not want to drop money into the Note Edge if it is not going to work. Thanks
onebyside
bluetooth is bluetooth nowadays
Dan4flying
Thank you for the reply. The bluetooth connection is not what my concern is. To mirror my phone using appradio I have to use the HDMI out of the unit to a Samsung MHL adapter. It is that functionality I am concerned about.

Jak Crow
If the Note Edge acts anything like the Note 4, the AppRadio app or the 8000 isn't compatible with it at this time. Running AppRadio on my Note 4, both stock and rooted firmwares, the AppRadio app doesn't recognize the 8000's touchscreen. I've also tried the Note 4 with AR Unchained Reloaded and the screen is squished instead of displayed in the proper aspect ratio, but at least the 8000's touchscreen works with it. It's not the app or the radios, it's a Samsung thing. Use an alternative launcher and the problem will be solved.

I've used different launchers and have gotten the same result. If you specifics, please share.
RRSpikes
Hmm, if you have an alternate launcher installed and have adjusted the image size (page 112 of manual) then you should be good to go. I use Nova on my Note 4 & Note 4 Edge. I use Apex on my S5.
Tango_6
I am planning on getting the Note edge or the S6 edge. I am glad this thread was started.
Dan4flying
Just an update to my initial question. I currently have a note edge and there is a appradio update available. Everything works great now with no problems yet.
Jak Crow
I'm shocked. SHOCKED I tell ya, that Pioneer has put out an update to address the high res phones. It's only been 7 months too.
