Dr. Claw
I am researching a possible AVIC-8100NEX purchase. With my next head unit, I want to be able to do it all: USB, AUX-IN, iPod (Classic), CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth audio streaming, navigation, so on and so forth. And still play CDs.The 8100NEX seems to be one route to this goal. However, I noticed that the Pioneer NEX units, while having all of these inputs, require a special iPod cable to use an iPod. Which is fine, but there's also a part that goes into the rear AUX port. Is it possible to use an 3.5mm Y-Splitter to still have AUX-IN while using iPod? Or is that "AUX-IN" really an AV-in?
