You have to get SyncTool from the 8100 to run on the USB stick before Navtools on the computer will see it, in addition to it being up to date.

Unplug EVERYTHING from the 8100, hard drive, phone, SD card, etc.

Turn on your car and wait for radio to boot up, and Navigation to start.

Start the SyncTool.

Plug in an actual USB drive when prompted by SyncTool.

I will try unplugging the hard drive next time.

When I tried SyncTool the first time, it simply told me I had nothing connected. It gave me no options to plug in anything.

I am using an SD card as well. I don't have a USB drive with the Micro USB connection.

You are in the wrong place, you are looking for SyncTool, not AVICSYNC. And you need to use a thumb drive, not the phone.

Read this:

Well, DUH, on my part. Don't know why I didn't see that.

Anyway, I tried SyncTool with an SD card last night. It would not reckognize it. My hard drive is in USB1, so now I have to either buy another small hard drive(Has USB 3.0 Micro-B connection) or try to find a female USB 2.0 to female USB 3.0 Micro-B adapter. Haven't had any luck yet tho.
