I have owned the SPH DA 100 app radio for a few years and its been fairly good to me, up until the apps tab remaining greyed out once my iPhone 6 is connected.

It has been connected like this and worked flawlessly up until now...

I have spent a good amount of time searching for any ideas to what it could be, troubleshooting, eg, disconnecting everything, HDMI, wiring harness, lightning adaptor, USB to lightening iphone cable, ariels ect, and re connecting it back up, re installing app radio, switching phone on and off, re-setting the head unit its self under settings, re connecting bluetooth to no avail :(

I also realised that the parking brake wasn't attached to anything, but worked previously like that. Since, I have wired it to the ground wire on the wiring harness just in case it could be anything to do with that but still no luck.

if anyone has had anything similar or anybody knows what's wrong here I would much appreciate your input,

thanks a a lot, J

I had tried with an older ipod hoping that the ipod feature would light up but it didnt, and i have just tried with my fathers iphone 5 and incredibly, it works. so im guessing its something to do with my iphone 6. Im going to reset my iphone, hopefully it will resolve the issue,

..update, didnt reslove the issue, also noticed my phone, when plugged into my pc charges, but itunes wont show it so i can't sync music ect, maybe its something to do with data transfer on my phone idk, i think its my phone.

thanks for help, any other suggestions appreciated.

I was just going to make a new thread about this until I saw this post.  I am experiencing the same issue.  I have an iPhone 5 using iOS6 with App radio Extensions installed along with App Radio v.2.3.0.  It seems like the only combination that has worked for everything since updating apps and/or App Radio has broken something along the way.  Out of nowhere, the Car Media Play button lost it's icon.  It would give the old Apple spin logo like when you boot a Mac and then it would give up and just leave a grey icon that says, "App".  So, I uninstalled App radio v.2.3.0 and re-installed.  It then greyed out all the "compatible" apps but left the non-compatible app icons alone that were being generated by App Radio Extensions.  Next step is that I installed App radio v.2.8.5 which brought back the icons but the app itself would not work.  It was over-zoomed on my AVIC-X950BH and the screen would not accept any input.  I could only swipe pages.  I uninstalled and went back to v.2.3.0 and I have resumed functionality but the compatible apps are still greyed out.  Very strange.

I can attach a photo if desired to show you.  Let me know.
