Thinking of upgrading from 930bt to NEX, is the Capacitive Touchscreen worth the extra $

So I either want the 7100NEX or the 8100NEX.  But I am not sure if the 8100 is worth the extra $

 

I mean all it has is the better touch screen, no better color or resolution...  

 

So is it worth the extra cash, are you happy with your 7100 or 8100?

Do you ever drive with gloves? Do any drivers have long nails? If so, you may actually prefer the resistive screen.

Yes it is worth it. 

 

The capacative display is more durable. (My 4000 got a scratch on the display while being installed. Thin shitty plastic). The user interface for carplay is better for the capacitive displays than the resistive ones, appradio and built in nav operation is more smooth because of the better touch surface accuracy, and the unit has a cleaner look with a full glass front. 

 

I would definitely suggest it, especially with the price difference being so small in the long run.

Yes but horribly. It really shouldn't but Pioneer tries to anyways with Appradio apps.

Resistive isnt meant to pinch and zoom, but it does horribly.   capacitive is the way to go

I've notice the my 8000nex screen is flush and doesn't have the bezel like my old AVH-x4600bt does. As for capacitive touch, I think it's worth it. It's all glass and is a lot smoother then resistive touch.
