AppRadio over Bluetooth

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

First post so please be gentle :)

Just installed an avic-f77dab today and have been trying to set up android auto using the appradio unchained reloaded app. :)

I was under the impression that you could connect your 'phone to use android auto using the HDMI connection to view the screen and Bluetooth to send the screen presses back to the 'phone?  But when I do that and go into the configuration menu on the headunit android auto is greyed out unless you select the USB connection (I didn't bother connecting the USB to the headunit because I have it connected to a 2.1 amp USB adapter to give the 'phone half a chance of charging ;) )

So do I need to connect my 'phone to the USB 2 port to get AA working and then have to suffer slow charging from the 500 mA  built in supply or am I doing something wrong?

Cheers,

Josh
