dannyz3343
New heads units were announced at CES. For the life of me I can't tell you what's different about them besides the model number. All specs seem to be the same, they don't support appradio 1, the non 8x00 units still use resistive displays. Yeah. I got no clue. dannyz3343
Oh and in other news, JBL made a CarPlay radio and I honestly can't see a real reason not to replace my NEX 4000 with the pioneers new stuff instead of the JBL. Especially since the pioneer is more expensive because it does a bunch of crap I don't even care about. 399.99. http://www.jbl.com/connected-car/CP100+LEGEND.html?cgid=connected-car&dwvar_CP100%20LEGEND_color=Black#start=
dannyz3343
OHHH I found something! The new NEX radios no longer support MirrorLink. How's that for an upgrade guys? Great stuff. http://imgur.com/a/LQCcs http://imgur.com/a/C2tmh
huddy
Maybe hardware that supports BT CarPlay & Android Auto?
dannyz3343
Maybe hardware that supports BT CarPlay & Android Auto? Honestly if the headunits could do that they would put that front and center. A feature that great would be a huge deal. No one else has done it yet. I was expecting to see someone announce it at CES but neither the OEMs or the aftermarket makers have announced anything.
sofakng
Hmm... What exactly is new in these models? I'm still using the 8000-NEX and I don't see almost anything new? (except for FLAC music playback?)
kelkin
Wow... so still no wireless carplay?
sofakng
Wireless Carplay was definitely my #1 request ...
kotarou
Hmm... What exactly is new in these models? I'm still using the 8000-NEX and I don't see almost anything new? (except for FLAC music playback?) FLAC is Present since the first NEX models.

edwin.correajr
No Mirrorlink and Most of the units are resistive as opposed to the the capacitive screens from the previous year.
hmmwv
The JBL unit looks very interesting.
dannyz3343
No Mirrorlink and Most of the units are resistive as opposed to the the capacitive screens from the previous year. There was no change to which units used what. The 8x00 has always been the only capacitive unit. There is also the Appradio 4 which will never get android auto because google requires a larger screen for it supposedly. If they made a new generation appradio with a 7 inch screen again it would probably get android auto. Regardless I've seen all the new radios from CES and my money is going to JBL. They made a real winner.
huddy
Looks like Aha Radio feature has been dropped on the X200 series NEXs. So looks like they dropped a few features off these new units.
Heli_Guy
You can actually perform a side by side comparison on the http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX web site, here is the link: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/portal/site/PUSA/template.PRODUCT_COMPARISON/?vgnextoid=62e2cd472a224410VgnVCM1000003367a8c0RCRD Ironically nothing has changed except that AVIC-8200NEX has dropped support for MirroLink and Aha Radio App. See screenshot of comparison below:
