donmontalvo
Just swapped out my 5000 and replaced it with a 6100. Absolutely 1:1 swap, no wiring work necessary. Or so I thought. Anyone know where this wire might be, I'm not an installer, so a pic might help. 2014 Honda CR-V AVIC-6100NEX. TIA, Don

huddy
Also it will effect the ASL (Automatic Sound Levelizer) feature, which uses the VSS wire to determine whether or not to adjust the sound up or down depending on how fast the car is going. VSS wire connection also helps keep the Nav accurate when GPS signal is lost (ie. Tunnels, cities with lots of tall buildings, etc) and also gives slightly more accurate turn notifications. Otherwise, using the simple hybrid mode is fine for most day-to-day navigation needs.
donmontalvo
Interesting, I'll see if I can find a professional installer in the Los Angeles area who can look at this.
