X9310BT - VGA Video - CD-IV202NAVI - Ipod Settings

Recommended Posts

I am wondering if anyone could help me understand if I am lost for possibilities; (Any help would be greatly appreciated)

Navi Hardware: X9310BT

Platform Version: 6.000

App Version: 06.0000

Bluetooth Firmware Version: 3.32

Hardware: - CD-IV202NAVI (Pioneer VGA Adapter)

- CD-IU52 (Pioneer Lighting to USB Cable)

- Apple Lightning to VGA Adapter

Problem:

Want AppRadio / video output from iPhone 5 using lighting connector. I was able to update the X9310BT to the latest 2015 maps and I am currently running version 6.0. I am able to connect using bluetooth. If I try to connect the lighting connector from the apple vga adapter to the iPhone it does not detect it under modes. However, if I disconnect the lightning to usb pionner cable from the apple vga adapter and simply plug the iPhone into that lighting connection I am able to get a connection ('iPod') and control songs from the navi but no audio or video.

I did find a thread (http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/38460-x940bt-and-cd-iv202navi-vga-adapter-will-not-work/) which described the missing instructions from the CD-IV202NAVI instructions for vga to work (listed below). However, regardless of the iPhone being connected or not I do not have the updated `Ipod Settings' under my `AV Settings'.

firmware update instructions for CD-IV202NAVI use;

1. turn stereo on

2. go to sources

3. press off

4. go to settings then AV Settings

5. make sure the connection is set to iphone

6. go back to AV Settings

7. go to Ipod Settings and select VGA.

Thanks

I checked the latest X940 manual and it said to update the firmware if `Ipod Settings' is not displayed in AV settings; http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/GPS-Navigation/AVIC-X940BT

I downloaded the latest firmware on a 32gb microSDHC formatted to fat32 and 16kb allocation. When it boots into testmode the firmware (ucom) on the microSD card is displayed as `--- ------' instead of the expected `8.05'. The current version was listed as `8.02'. Could this be more an issue that the X930 and X9310 cannot support the firmware update for a X940 even with the upgraded software to 6.0?

However, the 2015 Navteq Map Upgrade 20T1000-23348 manual states;

"By upgrading AVIC-X930BT or AVIC-X9310BT with this product, functions and operations will be equivalent to AVIC-X940BT. Therefore, obtain Operation Manual for AVIC-X940BT and use it as your primary reference."
