Android auto not working on 8100

Recommended Posts

What usb cable is recommended

any good quality usb cable, preferably the one included with the phone, but as long as its not too long, any should be fine

Make sure you have the Android Auto app on the phone.  Launch it and THEN plug it in, it might ask you a question about permissions.

I've also hear that it doesn't work with all phones regardless of the OS

you shouldnt need to launch the AA app, even the first time, it should auto launch and ask for several permissions

I ran into this with my S5 (lollipop). As other have stated make sure you have AA from the play store. Make sure you are using USB 2. Make sure under smartphone setup you have Android auto selected. Make sure you have developer options unlocked on the phone and select USB debugging. Enjoy
