bnolan
Hey all, carplay radios in new zealand (where i'm from) cost about $1000 USD, so I was thinking of buying a SPH-DA120 off amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SPH-DA120-Capacitive-Touchscreen-Smartphone/dp/B00O8B7CFS The only problem is that New Zealand has stations on both even and odd frequencies. For example: 101.3 97.3 104.4 etc... Is it possible to flash the SPH-DA120 with a european firmware that will give me access to both even and odd frequencies? Otherwise - is there a cheap carplay unit you can recommend to me in New Zealand? Maps + spotify on the car stereo would be awesome. Ben
bnolan
From reading / translating the german manual - it appears that if I can flash the european firmware - then I can change the language to english, and set the FM frequency step to 50khz or 100khz - is that correct? http://bit.ly/1PR7BqX
t30485
I found the English manual and there is no mention of being able to change the FM stepping :/
hilux_hx
The firmware is the same for the US and European unit. I have the US firmware 1.11 in my European SPH-DA120 and it behaves still like befor. There have to be some hardware differences, e.g. jumpers or resistors which tell the firmware if it's an US or European unit.
