Buy SPH-DA120 from the US and access EVEN and ODD frequencies?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, carplay radios in new zealand (where i'm from) cost about $1000 USD, so I was thinking of buying a SPH-DA120 off amazon:

The only problem is that New Zealand has stations on both even and odd frequencies. For example:

101.3

97.3

104.4

etc...

Is it possible to flash the SPH-DA120 with a european firmware that will give me access to both even and odd frequencies? Otherwise - is there a cheap carplay unit you can recommend to me in New Zealand? :D

Maps + spotify on the car stereo would be awesome.

Ben

The firmware is the same for the US and European unit. I have the US firmware 1.11 in my European SPH-DA120 and it behaves still like befor. There have to be some hardware differences, e.g. jumpers or resistors which tell the firmware if it's an US or European unit.
