Had my Z2 since they came out.  Upgraded to a bigger HDD year or so ago with the Z3 upgrade with newest maps.

Sunday it just quit working.  The buttons flashed blue a few times and I can hear the motors working inside but nothing.

I've checked the power and have 12v at the wiring harness.

Any suggestions?

Is there someone who repairs them?  I would hate to get rid of it.

Thanks for the help

Hi,  Just opened my mail and found notice of your avic411 post.

Don't know if your problem is the same as mine so my resolution of the problem may be different to yours.  In my case, I came to the conclusion that my hdd was a write off.  I sent a pm to Garret Toomey so that I could discuss (via email) my situation and if push came to shove, did he still sell pre loaded new hdd's with all the necessary firmware upgrades etc to upgrade my Z1 to a Z3 - I haven't had any reply from him (along with others who have posted regarding similar help/information).  I noted when I went to his profile that he had been 'off air' since February.

I have continued to try and find information/help to enable me to sort my problem out.  I can say that I have found a person in the UK (I am English but currently live in Portugal) who is offering a similar service re the new hdd preloaded with all the necessary upgrade software  etc including the upgrade to Z3 status and the European 2012 upgrade TOMTOM maps plus a dvd with other software.  He offers 60Gb or 80Gb Toshiba hdd's. I am awaiting a reply from him (I emailed him about two hours ago) so that I can talk to him before I commit to buying a new hdd.

If this idea of replacing the hdd is useful to you as a means of getting a solution to your problem and your system up and running again let me know and I will mail you the outcome (along with his contact details) of the exercise as to whether I found it a reliable outcome to getting my system up and going again.  I am going back to the UK next week and all being well, hope to be picking up a new hdd and installing it in my car.
