Ok, Dane186 I had the same problem as you. Well I still have i actually.I have a new AVIC N-4 from September 2007. What year is yours? I started to drive away and then it cut out on me and when I came to a stop the buttons and video came back. What should I see when I start up the unit?

Should I correctly connect the wires for the brake and then do the bypass? Or just do the bypass and that is that? I get the caution message that the brake wire was not properly connected. Will that message go away if I fix the bypass wire again?

Is that used to wedge apart the clamp inside the harness?

An eyeglass screwdriver or pick come in handy

Do I need a special tool to remove wires from one slot and put in another or do I just pull them out? I tried pulling, but since they didn't come out easily, I didn't want to damage anything.
