AVIC 8100 NEX, Android 6... can't launch Pandora from headunit?

Recommended Posts

Anyone upgrade phones recently and lose the ability to launch and use the pandora interface on their 8100?

I can play pandora just fine with the headunit on bluetooth input, but can't use the pandora mode at all.

Is there a setting somewhere in Android 6 for allowing BT devices to launch apps? I had it enabled in android 5 in the developer options, but don't see it anywhere in 6...

Thanks!

Try launching pandora through the pioneer AVIC app (download it from Google Play, launch the app and let it run in the background. Connect to the headunit with a usb cable, and touch the pandora icon on the headunit). As for launching from Android auto...you can try that if you get the above working... (I use Carplay since I have iphone)

My connection to Pandora also just stopped working correctly.  I have an AVIC 8000 NEX running 1.11 (the latest).  I did work, but now when I select Pandora from the head unit, I get a dialog box that just says Connecting...  It stays that way until I touch the dialog box, the the HU says ready.  Pandora will play, but the HU on screen controls are missing, and the volume controls on the HU don't work.

I bought my HU used.  Really glad I didn't pay full price.

EDIT:  Power cycling my phone solved the problem, and Pandora is working again.  I suspect AVICSYNC might have had something to do with it, but I'm not quite sure.  I installed it, and then removed it when I found out that it wouldn't sync.
