Sooner Salesman
Santa brought me a Pioneer AVIC-8200NEX for Christmas, and I'd appreciate help on some questions I have about it...1. Is there a way to bypass the Safety Warning message that comes on every time the unit starts up?2. Is there a way I can see text messages I get on my iphone on the screen, whether it be while in Apple Car Play mode or regular NEX mode?3. On the main option screen, I see an image of a USB plug with (1) in the middle of it. The unit doesn'thave an external USB port, so is that supposed to represent the SD card slot?4. One of the source options besides HD Radio, Bluetooth and SiriusXM is Rear (Source Off)...is that supposed to be for the Rear Camera that you have to order separately? Thanks! rockthebeef
1. I don't think so 2. No, CarPlay can reads text out loud only. I do not believe NEX mode supports any texting functions. 3. That is indeed USB port #1. There are two USB ports in the back of the unit. The installer should have installed extension cords to make them accessible from the cabin. Furthermore, USB-1 is the port needed for CarPlay. If you have CarPlay working, then your lightning cable is already routed to USB-1. 4. Rear source is not for the backup camera. It's for expanding the system for rear-seat entertainment. Check out the manuals. It's all in there. https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVIC-8200NEX#manuals

Read your users manual. 4. One of the source options besides HD Radio, Bluetooth and SiriusXM is Rear (Source Off)...is that supposed to be for the Rear Camera that you have to order separately?
