I have a 2008 charger r/t with the AVIC 900bt. It has been doing the reboot thing for a long time. Everything on the unit works fine, audio-video plays but it just keeps rebooting about every 15 seconds. The music however keeps playing without interruption until it decides to turn itself off every once in a while. It cannot go into the NAV section because it never completes the cycle of startup before it reboots.

I have tried the detailed instructions to get into test mode found on this site but I hit a brick wall at  "insert card into unit and turn on power" unit will not go any further. my unit has never been updated as far as I know firmware is below from 2008, doesn't even have the first update.

I am using a fat32 format 30GB sd card with the unzipped folders (testmode) from the links on this site and the Pioneer free firmware updates from Pioneers site put on card root menu

1. when card is installed and powered on Pioneer shows on screen, then It starts to reboot much faster (every 6 seconds). Much faster than it normally does.

2.  I can get it to go to the normal ( nav-contacts-music) operating menu wit a blank card installed but never with testmode on the sd card.

3. unit does not even recognize an  sd card is in at all when testmode is on the card but sees card when its blank or has firmware update on it but still shows no files or folders on card even though my pc shows them on the card

4.  tried the firmware update too but will not do that either but at least the unit recognizes an sd card is in the slot, just shows no folders/ files

I am not the most computer savvy guy but i was able to understand the directions of the "basic reboot fix" it just wont cooperate, this is my wife's car so any help would be great. Thanks
