2017 v7 US/Can Update available for Z110/120/130/140,X920/930/940

Ron, I have extensive experience in hacking GM modules and EEPROM programming so I wasn't concerned with changing the offsets. In theory if something were to go wrong, one could just put the original file back in the radio using testmode. I suggest anyone that attemps ANY mods make a backup of the users folder. It's time consuming, but it's free insurance.

I was actually one of the guys that worked on the original AVIC F series and found the ability to hack them, the 900 IIRC. Or maybe the 90. Whichever of the two had the better preouts.

I've had the x940 kicking around in a closet for a few years now and just got a second truck. I was going to buy an Alpine x009-GM but with these updated maps and warnings removed the x940 will work just fine. Plus I somehow bought a refurb Pioneer XM tuner that seems to have a lifetime sub, so win-win. It's been going for about 10 years now.

Thanks for all the easy guides, you saved countless hours of sorting code and/or searching the forum.

It boots up, enter the passwordpassword then it reboots, and then gets that error.. it wouldnt go that if it were not fat32

It sounds like you modified a file on the installation SD. The only change to SD files would be to use a different CARDINFO.CIF  if necessary. I hope you didn't replace RenewallFlib.dll on the installation SD. I'd just extract the whole thing from the zip (we know its good) or use the original unmodified one you bought.

OK, I thought it blew-up while doing the install, after entering the password. So you think it is blowing-up and rebooting because the DLL is corrupt? I hope you saved the original you got off the unit.

If you want, you can try this DLL. If it doesn't work, send me your original file and I'll patch it.

I have the original.. I will try yours. As for the .dll in the non-active prg, do you just leave that one how it is? i nly messed with the 1

It shouldn't hurt to replace both. The non-active one will be overwritten during the update install.

BTW, earlier you said you were going to buy a unit off ebay.  What unit do you now have? Do you know what the current software  version is?
