I start the car, flip the switch on then off and can now watch my videos without my screen blacking out!! I am having the same issue with my AVHW4400. Did disconnecting the GPS and using a micro bypass work? I assume you have to then put phone in airplane mode.
outlaw_jr
The really old z models were bypassed by pulsing the illumination wire during boot up. Wonder if they went back to this idea. Pioneer has always incorporated a bypass. Just gotta find it.

tripp03
Hi ya'll. Has anyone figure out how to circumvent this as it's frustrating? Purchased this for wireless carplay although wanted to play a movie for my 8 year old son yet this is proving to be challenging at best! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jdog2013
Subscribing to try and get the same answer. Micro bypass didn’t work. And I am assuming the the old method of a simple disconnect switch doesn’t work as well.
mdpauley
I found this on ebay, has anyone tried it? It says it works on the W4400. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brake-Bypass-Pioneer-AVH-W4400NEX-for-video-dvd-and-settings-BLUETOOTH-/253625514233

I also tried grounding the green wire, no change. I did find a hidden developer mode screen but I could figure out the password to get in. So still no video while moving. smh How'd you access the hidden developer screen/menu??
Kbelcher
All I'm really concerned with us to play video on the rear monitor out so the kids can watch a movie in the back seat. Has anyone verified if the dual output will output video when if driving? Subscribing to hopefully find an answer.
gbean
I have read others success by simply disconnecting VSS and GPS. This thread is the first I have heard that using carplay/AA NAV will bring the lockout back. Installing my 4400 this weekend... we shall see.

Update the W4400NEX to 1.01 and after reboot... Do the AVIC "SET ON" bypass in the lower left screen that everyone is already familiar with.
