W4400NEX doesn't use GPS signal for clock sync?

I had a SPH-DA120, but the touchscreen delaminated and made it look like garbage, so I bought a 5201NEX, but the internal SD card died within a week of using the navigation so I returned it. Now I have a W4400NEX but for some reason this one doesn't use the GPS' signal for a clock sync? Seems annoying that I have to set it manually, mostly because radios always desync from the actual time, and I figured having it use the GPS signal for time would keep it accurate. Is there a way to have it use the GPS' signal for time? If not, I don't even see a reason to plug it in, since this unit doesn't have navigation...
