Rear backup camera cuts out while in reverse

I have a 2013 Ford F-150 King Ranch that has a factory installed rear back up camera mounted in the bottom of the Ford emblem on the tailgate. It worked fine until approx. 8 to 10 months ago, then it began to cut out while backing. Sometimes it will come on initially and cut off after a few seconds while backing up. Other times it will not come on at all. Other times it comes on and stays on until I either put it in drive or park. Any ideas what may be the problem? Seems like a short or loose connection to me.

Are you using any type of vehicle harness for the radio? Such as pac or maestro? Im seeing a few threads with people havin trouble with reverse cams. Im tryin to figure out if its the radio or the harness or the firmware.
