doccelo
Here are some backgrounds I made for my Avic D3 and my 98' Mercury Mountaineer. I do web/graphic design as freelance so I thought I would put my skills to some good use This is also a way for me to contribute back to this great forum. If you use them, just post a quick message and/or picture of it on your D3 (or others) and I'll be happy. PS - I saw that people are using 500x240 as the image size...but this leads to vertical stretching of the image in the Avic D3. If anyone knows the correct pixel dimensions so no stretching will occur, please let me know and I will resize them to the correct proportions and repost the new images. The ones below are all 500x240. One more thing...the color depth changes when on the D3. Anyone know if this can be remedied? It is even more evident on the images with gradients. Are we SOL or is there some setting we can change?
doccelo
I guess it wouldn't let me attach more so here goes another post.
merc07
These look great. I am trying to do a similar format with the Mercedes logo - can't find a good logo on the web though ? I am also having exactly the same probs as you. The image is stretched vertically no matter what ratio I use. I have tried just about everything - somethings a miss somewhere ? Maybe no one else has noticed as you will probably only see it when using a circle in the image ? Adam
doccelo
Ya it is definitely more noticeable when there is a circle in the image. I'll be trying some different dimensions today and I'll report back what I find. I'm sure you can find some Mercedes logos, it's a far more popular car than Mercury, haha. Try here: http://brandsoftheworld.com/search/?act ... t=mercedes And these as well: These are only some of the nice ones I found. I used Google Image search. Plenty more out there. Hope it works out for you. Once I find the correct image size I'll post back.
merc07
Thanks, the larger one might work, the others like I have found are very pixelated...maybe I'll import a photo ? The only way I could figure out the vertical image stretch was to use the ratio 1000x480 for the background but when you add layers to the background, make these layers @ 100% width x about 90%-95%height. That way it stretches to the correct size. How did you get on ? Adam
doccelo
I've been busy so I haven't had a chance yet to try out some new dimensions. I'll try out what you suggested soon. Hope your background works out for you. I'll post back as soon as I figure something out. Cheers
jbell73
Sorry to revive a dead post, but I did find a solution to the Merceses Emblem issue, and the circle being stretched... Just compress the image by 5% vertically using MSPaint, and then the logo looks good. I tested using an image at 100% 95% and 90%, and the 95% image looks perfect. Just thought I would throw it in there. Here is my image:
Legaleagle
doccelo These are great. Thanks for doing them and posting. Here's a pic of your work on my AVIC X930BT in my 2002 Mercury Mountaineer. I used the AVIC Feeds program to resize. Looks great and OEM. Thanks again.
