skicrave
I'm getting ready to tackle the install of the back-up camera I got on eBay, and the first issue I need to resolve is getting power to the camera. I've never seen the connector that used on the end of the wiring, and rather than just cut it off (which I'm about to do), I'd like to find a solution for it. Any body know what this red connector is?
skicrave
Well, in case anyone else stumbles along this thread and has the same question, the unknown connector above is a standard "M" sides coaxial DC power connector. You can get a solder on plug for it at Radio Shack that will allow you to connect power and ground.
BobyYoo
well, my cam came with another wire that connect to that red plug. look in the pic, the bottom right black wire connect to the red plug, so i just need to tap the black one to a power source

tuetran22
hey guys...have a question regarding backup camera. are you guys tapping into the power from the rear of the car or in the front? i was thinking of tapping into the reverse wire connected to the reverse light in the rear of my car. will this work? thanks
Cowboy UP
IT is probably an audio hook up. My camera has a built in microphone and I hooked. You can use one of the two assesory jacks and hook it up. You don't need it to make your camera work
