  1. OK, I got it to fit perfectly. I guess our screens do not like normal aspect ratios. So, if you use a multple of the 320x128 and keep the aspect ratio OFF, it should fit perfectly. I doubled it and used 640x256 and it looked nice and worked fine.
  2. As the other have said, this clip works well. I can make clips that work, but they do not fit in the screen perfectly like this clip does. Is there a special aspect ratio or zoom to use to get it to fit perfectly? When I examine the properties of this samle clip, it says it is 320x128, yet when I make clips of the same dimensions, it does not fill the screen like this one does. Any suggestions?
  3. Hello all. I just had my 930 installed at a local shop. I didn't want the bypass done as I had it done on my old D3 and it created problems for me (night mode would not activate) I thought to myself, I wont ask for the bypass this time. Of course I didn't think I had to tell them NOT to do the bypass... Turns out they did it even without me asking... Lesson learned. I was so tired of waiting and the night mode worked so I just said ok. Anyway, my 930 will not scroll. I asume it would be like a smart phone how you flick the screen a bit and it scrolls but mine will not. As soon as my fi
  4. I am having the same problem. My cruise control no longer works. I did the bypass AFTER an installer did the install. Maybe what is happening is that the green parking brake is actually connected to the car, and the cruise control thinks the ebrake is on? I am not sure if the green parking wire from the D3 is just grounded, or grounded and connected... I'll have to check. Everything else is working ok. Except that after the bypass, it no longer goes into night mode when I turn the headlights on.
  5. Hey all, The D3 didn't come with a trim ring like a lot of other head units I've had. Usually you get a nice snap on piece that snaps on over the front of the unit and fits well for a better finish. I had to use one from an Alpine unit, and we had to glue it on... So I was wondering what you guys used? thanks.
  6. Hello all, Has anyone tried out the bittornet link found in: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... c&start=30 Which is in the sticky called: D3 SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK ON D1/2 in hacks/mods. Love to know the pros/cons of upgrading to the new $250 discs. Seems like it seeds quite well, but I will take forever to download it... If you burned a copy and tried it out, please post. Is it good and safe to use? -thanks!
  7. Has anyone tried out the above link yet in a D3? Love to know the pros/cons of upgrading to the new $250 discs. Also would like to know how well the image being seeded at the above Bittorent link is working. If you burned a copy and tried it out, please post. -thanks!
  8. LOL! Turns out all you guys were absolutely right! There is no silver sticker at the bottom of a D3. I went back to best buy to return the one I bought. After checking over the new unit, I saw for myself there is no such sticker. And to further prove how right you guys are, the bypass still works! lol. So he used the mute wire trick after all... I dont know why he couldnt just tell me from the start. Oh well. Thanks all.
  9. no, I bought a D3, and the switch im talking about is an external one that the installer put under my dash to toggle the bypass on/off in case a cop were to pull me over and ask about watching dvds while driving. (not that i do) The silver sticker I didnt see for myself, I just handed him the unit to install. I'm just saying what he told me, that he had to make a connection under that sticker to get the bypass working. He did, the bypass works fine. I just wanted to know if anyone knows about this bypass and if it safe and as good as the mute wire bypass. -thanks
  10. I had my AVIC D3 installed by a pro install shop. I sent along a printout of the bypass shown here at acvi411, but it looks he decided to do his own thing. At first his bypass didnt work, but when i went back, he told me he "forgot to make a connection at the bottom of the unit under a silver sticker". There is a switch to toggle between bypassed and not. I dont think he used the mute wire method. Does anyone know what method he may have used and could there be any complications? Thanks.
  11. Hello all, Has anyone else had this happen? You know how you can change your Menu colors (not the illumination) for the Main menus, AV menus etc.. You have a choice of White, Red, Yellow, Blue and Green right? When you select a color, it changes the Menu backgrounds, clock and some text to that color, lets say red for example. But the Song information is always white, and the background menus are red, as it should be, for better visibility. On my D3, all the colors/text are fine except Green. When I select Green, even the song info text is green! The others are all white...
