1. These are good tips, spot on. Make sure to disable the amp crossovers so that the unit can figure out the crossover points. I ran with and without my amp crossovers and had very different results with xover/EQ. The great thing about it is the Time Alignment was perfect after this whereas I never could get it quite right manually using a tape measure. Also the EQ settings get stored as the default so you can still tweak it as if you were tweaking flat, so in my case i can drop 1k down a bit and still benefit from the auto corrected measurements. Good point here as well. Most peop
2. So for once now I got night mode. It happened when the screen seemed to lockup and then it kicked out of maps as if it crashed. Then when I went back into maps got night mode. Not reliable at all. Hoping 9.3 fixes it.
3. I use Spotify and Pandora and on occasion have same issue as you. Don't think its the adds though since I pay for Spotify. Trying to play from the HU and nothing, unlock the phone and hit play/pause then try again and it works. It's pretty buggy but when it's working it's great. Haven't had any issues with phone/messages/calendars. Maps works pretty good but not night mode for me at least.
4. Major update would be wireless & support for other navigation apps like Waze. As dvboy mentioned it would be great to find out these existing ones could do wireless.
5. Any update to this? Running iOS 9.2 on iPhone 6S and mine is never in night mode. I've tried rebooting, closing the maps app, making sure it's in standard view, with or without navigating, etc. I sent a feedback to Apple but who knows how that goes. This makes using the maps at night pretty annoying.
6. I was a bit worried to do the '1.053' update on my 4100nex but went ahead with it since I saw some people said their touchscreen became more responsive. I used a 16GB USB3 stick and made sure to disconnect everything from the HU (iPod, SD card, phone in airplane mode, etc). I then followed the instructions and it updated rather quickly, however it now says '1.05' and not '1.053' but all is working well. I thought it was supposed to lose all settings but it actually retained everything. So then I proceeded to do the bluetooth update and it appeared to work, it said 'completed' and no more a

Nav issue

I've always had this problem with AVICs POI. I have to enter the City, why can't it default to my home or last typed city? Then I get results but those are not sorted by distance at all so I have to click on the map icon to see how far they are until I find the right one. Maybe I am missing some setting? I'd really love to have POI place the closest matches first.
8. 4. This is my biggest NAV gripe with Pioneer. Say you want to find the closest Best Buy or something... Why can't it default to your home city? Why can't it show you CLOSEST matches first instead of making you click on each map icon to see where it's at?
9. I used to use "Rear View" on my D1. It showed the reverse camera along with a small map on the side. The D3 however just shows the camera. So now I just prefer "Map View".
10. These sites may help with iPod models: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61688 http://support.apple.com/specs/ipod/ I bought a refurb 60GB photo just for use in the car, got it on eBay for $75. It came just like new, no scratches at all.
11. Great choice going with Focals! I have K2's and they are amazing. You will not regret it, even though the wallet hit may hurt at first. But if you go high-end make sure you amp them well. They make 6x9 Polyglass and Access series. You can get a 6 inch coaxial installed in a 6x9 hole or get a 5 or 6 separates on a 6x9 plate and put the tweeter in your window pillar or door. Personally I like the tweeter in the window pillar but that won't be hidden away out of sight. If you can fit go with the 6x9 in the back and separates up front. If you decide to go with mid-range, I recommend Alp
12.
Anyone know where to find a decent "base" layer for a background? Like the carbon fiber and such? Not sure what terms I should be using to find something via google.
You can look for textures or tiles in google search. There are lots of free texture sites as well as places like deviantart.
13. Here's my first attempt at some AVIC-D3 backgrounds. They ended up pretty bright and perhaps the Pony is too small.

15. Concerning Samsung, I have the A900 and it took me a few tries to get it working right. At first I did the connect to phone from the AVIC-D3, worked but would not auto-connect. Then I deleted the registered phone in the D3 and same on my samsung and instead initiated connect from my phone. it said it paired but didn't work. Finally I deleted all again and connected from the D3 with the auto-connect off, worked, then enabled auto-connect and all working great. Only thing left to get is the phonebook transfer which doesnt work for me at all, not even one contact at a time. Good luck
