My N1 is having the same issue, and pretty much ruins the unit for me, considering I can not use the address book at all, which I used allot. I have preformed the mod that lets me watch TV and DVD while moving, with the newest software, by soldering the circut board so sending my unit to Pioneer might not even be a option? Ill let you know h

That should be a built in future that doesn't break anything when performing. 5. at first i didnt want to try to recalibrate becuase of the loss of the - + buttons, but i guess i can go w/o those in order to be able to scroll again. the only problem is, i havent heard of any successful calibration stories yet.
 6. this is just garbage. i was able to tolerate the screen being off, it was just a matter of pressing the buttons 1/2 or 1/4 of an inch to the left. no biggie. now, when i am trying to scroll through my recent destinations or address book, i cant scroll up for down. since the button is flush with the left side of the screen, the 1/4 or 1/2 in range to the left obviously isnt in an area where i can touch. this unit is basically garbage for me right now... aside from typing in my destinations, which is the reason i have an address book, all i can do is open it up and press return hom
 7.
I had the same problem but figured out how to fix it with a side effect - the +/- buttons on the unit do not work so the screen in slammed back against my dash when open - I got into the secret service menu on my N1: - hit eject & reset at the same time - release 'reset' - screen went in & came back out - screen said "press reset" or something to that effect - i used the joystick - up, up, down, down, [and then pushed in the joystick to 'enter'] - goes into the service menu - select top option for touch screen - in touch screen menu, select 1st [top] item with
 8.

The touchscreen can be recalibrated if you go into the service menu. Too bad I found that out after I sent my d1 out. 5 weeks and I still haven't gotten it back yet.
How do you get into the service menu? I have an N1 P.S. Thanks for the quick reply... and this forum rocks!
yes, i am having this issue, i also have the n1 and i would like to know how to get into the calibration screen... someone said above that they have a service menu with their d1. i would tend to think that d1 and n1 options are a bit different.
 9. yeah, if i take the n1 out, im putting the z1 back in. then i guess i ll pay to fix the n1 and install it somewhere else....maybe i will give it to my dad.
 10.
I just started having this problem a couple weeks ago. When I go to touch a button on the touch screen, I have to hit it about 1/2 inch to the left of the button. I am not sure this is happening on all screens. I notice it most when I am using the input address screen, but that might just be because the buttons are smaller. I am a Avic-N1 also so maybe they go bad or something?
yup n1 here as well and this is happening to me. i thought adding the n3 firmware would fix it, but i think its something in the screen. im not taking this thing out to get re
 11. yeah my first concern when i took this to get installed was the placement of the antenna, but the installer told me it will have no problem being mounted inside my dash. i forgot to mention that i have had the unit for 2 years now and i have never had any problems with reception. the only time i can remember it putting me next to a road instead of on the road was when i was in a forest preserve.... and i was surrounded by trees. even if it was mounted on my roof at the area i was at it would still have not done me any good. throw it in the dash and call it a night...
 12. guys guys guys..... my antenna is mounted INSIDE my dash and i have perfect and accurate navigation..... you guys dont need to be mounting it on your roof. you cant even see my antenna...unit works perfect!
 13. i have the same problem and i was looking for a fix. hope someone can help us.

 15.
If you check out Pioneers site, it says that the 60 software will not change XM or Ipod display, not sure where you heard it would. As for knowing if you have the N3 software, it completely changes the appearance of the navigation menu so it should be fairly obvious

I have a AVIC-N1 that was recently modded to a N3, how can I tell if it's actually a N3 now and if the software I'm running is the latest? Also I have the iPod adapter that give little to no information on the screen even though my unit is moded to a N3. W
