I agree with the two posters above - it sounds like you got a bum unit. I'm up and playing from my iPod in a little over 20 seconds, have ZERO problems with Bluetooth, and only had to do a hard reset once since September 2009 when my GPS lost signal with the sats. 7-8 minutes sounds like you either have a bum unit or screwed the firmware update up. Admirably? Really? No offense, but I call that settling... my D3 always did what it was supposed to do with no delayed response. Granted it did not have VR, but I never had to wait 7-8 minutes into driving before being able to use a 'feature' it came with. Also, that 'feature' is based on Microsoft's Sync... I wonder if folks that drive Fords have to wait that long once they crank their car to use it... I highly doubt it. Dude, I totally hear you. I had the F90BT and switched to that from the D3. WHAT A MISTAKE!!! Best thing going for it is the VR. I sold mine and went back factory. Cost me a pretty penny to do factory nav, sat, iPod & BT, but it works and it kicks the sh*t out of the F series and integrates so well! Pioneer has lost a lot of my respect by releasing that unit into the wild KNOWING it was not ready for prime time! Kenwood has a new unit coming out in the summer that has everything the F series does and more... I would wait a bit until that is released and check that out!

The best thing the F series has going for it is the VR and hackability (which I don't think is a word LOL). Other than that, I think it is a failure on Pioneer's part. The concept is great and if everything was faster, less buggy, and the BT was better then it would be a winner. I think the new Kenwood coming out this summer is going to take everything the F series should have been and it is going to deliver as they are going to learn from Pioneer's mistakes and cash in on it. Just my .02 For the record, I owned the D3 before selling it and going with the F90BT.

Same problem here... not using Mav's, but I am using a data.zip I modded myself. Seemed to just start happening out of the blue about two weeks ago...

Mine worked sporadically and stopped working all together about a week ago!

So I found some other iGo 8.0 TTS voices online, Susan and Dave. I have tried every way I know possible to add them to the F90, but no matter what folder I put the zip file in, no matter how I format it, whatever I do the 'Add TTS' button stays greyed out. I also tried the backdoor method of booting into WCE and adding them to APL2/iGo/Content/Voice and still a no go. Was hoping to find a solution for myself and others to the awful Samantha voice... any thoughts or words of advice? Thanks guys!
