I had the same problem, the file name was the problem it is updating now....

I was only able to use CarPlay for the first day. Now, it won't even open. The CarPlay logo comes up on the phone for 20 seconds then the phone locks and nothing happens. I have reset my phone, reset the USB and Iphone options in the radio, and powered off the car and stereo and turned it back on with no results. I have also reinstalled the firmware update to no avail. Anyone else having this problem and how do I fix it? Pretty annoying that I can't even use it. It is bad enough I had to disconnect the hdmi cable. Now I don't even get CarPlay to boot. If I we don't get an update I'm gonna forg

So I agree with all of you guys. It has its ups and downs for sure. I am having an issue with it connected to the HDMI cable. I use that to sling my video from MLBatBat, SundayTicket, FoxSportsToGO Big10 apps ect... It appears that I can't have the hdmi connected at all. I have to use just the lightning cable to activate the carplay. Am I just doing something wrong? I changed the settings to USB>iPhone figuring that would be the fix and it doesn't work. I am also having issues mirroring the image to the rear monitor. It worked fine the first night then the second night it gives me a black screen or a blue screen. Only the DVD video will play from the head unit.

Are you able to load in pictures from your iPhone via USB? Or do you have to have the pictures on the memory sticks to do this? thanks!
