I have an 8000 but the update file is labeled 5000... will it still work? also once we place the folder in the sd drive all we have to do is navigate to the update firmware part in the NEX and it'll do its thing? Thanks in advance.

Is the speedpulse you're referring to the VSS? I'm assuming it was installed because thats how it tracks vehicle speed right?

I don't speed sensor could be the problem since it tracks accurately up to 72-73. I've the speed warning option set... perhaps it turns off when you go over the speed limit? I'll look into it more. I figure if it works accurately up to 72-72 there shouldn't be anything wrong. thanks.

I muted the voice alert for turn by turn directions but when it comes up my NEX 8000 mutes the music as if it were telling me a turn by turn direction. Is this normal? It basically wants to give me an audio cue for turn by turn directions but since i muted it/turned it off it mutes the the audio as if it were giving me turn by turn direction. how do you turn this off? My cars speedometer matches up with my NEX 8000 nav speed pretty much until it hits 70 mph... then after that my NAV speed occasionally moves up while i'm going much faster than 70mph. Once i go down past 70 mph it tracks pretty much the same again. Basically anything above 70-73 mph it doesnt accurately track my speed on the head unit. Is this a bug or something?

How do you get the APPS shortcut on the home screen to work? Shouldn't I be able to access the APPS shortcut on my home screen if i have a phone connected via usb? When i connect my iphone to my usb cable i can access aha and pandora but the APPS shortcut on my home screen doesn't work... Am i missing something here? Thanks in advance.
