  1. Tried emailing Pioneer, no response. Tried rolling back to 1.06 firmware, same result. Ridiculous.
  2. Has anyone considered trying to get someone from the XDA Developers forums involved with this? There's a huge amount of Android hacking talent there, since these radios ARE Android devices maybe someone there could figure this out... Just a thought.
  3. I'm sure I wasnt the only one hoping iOS 8.2 would resolve these issues. It made no difference for me. I finally disabled CarPlay after pulling the unit and checking all the wiring. Everything works fine in the non CarPlay mode. FIX THIS PIONEER. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!
  4. Dammit, I was hoping it would be something simple like that, even though there's no reason the mic would become unplugged. It did seem like Siri got progressively worse (understanding less spoken words, not always activating) before she finally quit working. Restored my phone already, and reset the NEX. neither worked. iOS 8.2 better come out soon and fix this nonsense, or Pioneer need stop update if it's their issue. Thanks!
  5. So Siri no longer works on my 4000 NEX. No beeps, voice waveform stays flat. She won't read texts anymore either. Works fine when not plugged into NEX. Suspecting my microphone somehow came unplugged. Anyone else have ideas?
  6. May the force be with you on this. Coding out that damn nag screen would be epic. Please don't give up!
  7. The app update is out in the US now, our models ARE listed. Does that signify an imminent firmware update for the headunits? I sure hope so, there's still lots of bugs to be fixed.
  8. Nice unit, but way too expensive for what it offers. Should be no more than $350 since its basically just an interface for your iPhone. I like the concept of it but the price is insane.
  9. So after a few days of CarPlay usage I had a few thoughts: CarPlay is mostly smooth and works as I'd hoped, with a few caveats: 1.) It's annoying to have to unlock the phone to use it, never a requirement to play music before. 2.) The extra "Safety First, You Morons!" nag screen that you have to click "OK" on at every connection is extremely annoying already, the unit isn't really doing anything new feature-wise, just in a different way. 3.) NO AUTO-RESUME OF PLAYBACK ON RECONNECTION OR RESTARTING THE CAR?!?! SERIOUSLY?? This USED to happen, WTF Pioneer/Apple? That's about it, other than
  10. Pretty sure you only get a certain number of skips per hour on most of these services unless you're a paying subscriber...
  11. You will also need to get all the hidden files that Macs put on storage media off. There's a free utility called Clean My Drive on the Mac App Store that will automatically do this when you eject any external drive or media.
  12. Anyone figured out how to get rid of the stupid nag screen when connecting an iPhone yet? It's getting increasingly annoying already after only a day. CapPlay itself is great so far. I have a bypass installed, FYI.
  13. There should be a set of removal keys in the box it came in.
  14. I hate to admit it, but I think the AppRadio4 (DA120) is a better-looking unit than my 4000NEX, which looks like an '80's product. I'm not crazy about the smaller screen, though. It DOES come with a GPS antenna apparently. I feel the price should be closer to $400-$450 though, $600 is not much less than the 4000NEX. Tough call, LOL.
