  1. Cool. I figured after installing 2 new firmware updates and having the same problem each time, that counted as a system reset anyway. Will be delighted if it's that simple.
  2. I contacted Pioneer support and complained of the keyboard on my 8000NEX not responding properly to each press of the keys when entering an address or destination. Sometimes the key presses register and sometimes I have to press each button multiple times before it finally works. They said this is the first they've heard of the problem, but I know others have had this problem and have posted about it on here. Pioneer tried to duplicate the problem on one of their units, but couldn't. Who else has noticed thus issue since the 1.06 update and if you have, can you please contact Pioneer S
  3. I believe it's just showing which side of the street has even or odd numbered addresses. Not sure if it actually corresponds with real addresses in the area.
  4. Yep, this is very frustrating. I'm experiencing it too. My girlfriend used a lot of 4-letter words while trying to type in an address on a recent road trip.
  5. Sounds like they're talking about connecting it to the "remote" wire that is normally used to signal an amp to turn on. Generally, this wire is blue. I don't have the NEX wiring diagram in front of me, but it seems like that wire was labeled on the harness.
  6. Everything is working as before on my iPhone 6+. I really don't use that much stuff though. I generally just plug the phone into USB1 and play music using the steering wheel controls. I did have one issue where the whole system got confused. I got a phone call, unplugged the lightning cable, and answered the call. After that, all sorts of stuff wasn't working right. Next time I got in the car, it was all good.
  7. I wired my parking brake wire the same way you did and I get it maybe once every 10 times I get in the car, if that. I thought it was kind of weird too and was considering the same solution you were. At the same time, I'm not sure I care enough. I might wait until there is a good mirroring option for my factory backup cam before I tear the dash apart again. Kill 2 birds with one stone.
  8. Thanks, I'm using this currently on my 8000NEX
  9. I'm confused (not unusual) about the math here. Are you saying that ~10million is .01% of 120million? By my math that's a little over 8% which seems pretty decent. Maybe you were referring to something else?
  10. I can't really help you much with the problem you're having, but I'm amazed if this is what the average person is paying for these HU's. I just purchased mine (off Amazon so I guess no warranty) for <$1,000 and have paid a little over $100 for wiring harnesses (forward harnesses to prevent cutting any OEM wiring) and steering wheel control module. I won't have any rear monitors, but my install should be less than $1100 all said and done while retaining all aux/USB inputs in my car and adding one additional USB input. Sorry you spent so much and are having trouble with the features. Hope
  11. So if this requires HDMI as was mentioned before, does that mean it won't work on the 5000? I'm trying to decide between the 5000 and the 6000. I kind of figure I'll be just fine with the 5000, especially once Carplay is released. Is there anything I'm really going to miss out on by going with the 5000 vs the 6000 once we get the firmware update with Carplay? Sorry for the slight thread jack.
