  1. Hello all, I'm the original poster and just wanted to update everyone on my problem. In a word.... resolved! Finally! It's taken so long because i had to send my unit to Pioneer's repair center in Southern California. After shipping, and a long wait to hear back from the repair center, I finally received a new unit from Pioneer yesterday. Updated the firmware on it from 1.03 to the latest 1.08, made sure my Maestro RR was updated and reinstalled everything. And it's all working just fine now! Whew! Siri hears me, and I hear her. Siruis XM is working again too. No amount
  2. Hey Jon.. I'm having the same issues here. I've tried all sorts of things. I partially rewired today to utilize the new digital connection to the Maestro and pioneer deck. No go. I than backed up my phone, and did the factory reset on the phone and NEX. Same issue. I gave up, and finally packed up the headunit and sent it off to their repair shop. Here's hoping I don't have a gapping hole in the dash for long. And fingers crossed that the repairs work. BTW. What vehicle do you have? Do you have the Sirius XM not reconginized/available as well? good luck to you! I'll po
  3. Yeah... everything is working Phil. I actually get Music and Maps voice when connected with carplay. And when not connected via carplay, I can make and receive calls, and stream music over Bluetooth to the headunit just fine as before. Just no carplay phone call audio (speaker and mic) and no Sirius XM available as a source.
  4. well... another update. I finally got a new set of wiring, and all the pieces to try the Metra/Axxess adapter in place of the Maestro RR. No change... *sad trombone* Still no phone call or siri audio. And my Pioneer Sirius adapter is still not being recognized. One glimmer of hope I had. When I turned Siri off, Carplay popped up a warning screen, and than I turned it back on. And for a brief moment i heard Siri's voice, and than silence again. And i couldn't repeat it. So I called Pioneer again. And unlike my previous call, the reps claim ignorance of these issues now.
  5. yup... that's what the rep told me. He seemed to looking something up, and his response was near immediate. he didn't ask me to try any other troubleshooting things or what not. I may still try one of the other interfaces this weekend. It seems so odd that so many people are without problems.
  6. Update...well... the plot thickens. I ordered the PAC interface, and the Metra/AXXESS interface and was planning on swamping them out to see if they made a difference. But i'm still waiting for some parts to arrive. Anyways.. ADC released a new firmware for the Maestro RR today, so i thought I would give that a try. No change. Still no phone call audio or siri input or output. But...I also noticed something else. No Sirius XM either! It's not available as a source to select on screen. I do have the external Pioneer sirius receiver plugged into the back of the headunit. And it
  7. yup... it's charging, i can play music, and access playlists thru the carplay interface, calendar reminders even pop-up and chime thru the speakers. It's so odd. I'm thinking that it might have something to do with the maestro RR that interfaces with the stock wiring and steering wheel. I don't know what else it could be. The 4000 has it's own bluetooth, mic and speaker connections. I don't understand why the Maestro would be interfering with that interaction between the phone and the headunit.
  8. does the phone need to be paired via bluetooth for phone and siri? doesn't everything happen over the usb cable? Also my roommates iPhone 5 with 8.0.2 is doing the same thing.
  9. Hey all... Having some trouble with Carplay on my NEX 4000. I was able to install the update. My phone seems to connect properly when connected (to USB 1). I can play music via the Carplay interface. Calendar reminders even pop-up with a sound and notification window. But... Phone calls and Siri don't work. When i receive a call, i can answer it via carplay. But i never hear a ringtone, and i hear no caller audio, and it's silent on the other end too. I can hit the button to bring up siri, and the little animation appears... but the sound wave line doesn't move as if it's
