  1. Here is the fix: On your iPhone Go To Settings, Music, scroll down to Sort Songs & Albums, and change setting from By Artist to By Title. It fixed the problem immediately in Carplay.
  2. I solved it. It was actually a setting on the iPhone that allows you to sort by Artist or by Song. I switched it back to by Song and it fixed it.
  3. I downloaded iOS 10 and lots of good enhancements that made their way to CarPlay. Among them Maps and new more intuitive Music menus. Really like it. However, the songs in my playlists are often scrambled when using the CarPlay interface, so that while the playlist in the phone is consistent with what it has been, when you display in CarPlay, the songs are all jumbled and then play in the incorrect order. Anyone else experience this?
  4. Depends, when connected the NEX converts the signal and all controls go through the NEX. With blue tooth I believe the phone handles most sound controls, you can use EQ on phone for example. Obviously, the sound quality is better using the connected experience.
  5. There is not a simple ON/OFF button but if you hit the main menu, big button in the middle, you can scroll down to OFF. Most people probably don't worry about it at all as the stereo will go off when you exit the car. Regarding the "highs and lows of each area" that is controlled through your Crossover settings. So in the Audio Settings, Go To Crossover, You then can adjust the setting and slope for both the front, rear and subwoofer outputs. As you are indicating, this is very important. If you don't understand this stuff, a good place to start would be to cross your fronts (and rear
  6. Salty -- I would suggest that your LPF at 200Hz is set way to high which is why you are hearing only the upper bass. Take it down to 80 with a slope of 12 and see how it sounds. Your front speakers should be crossed at around 100Hz and they can handle frequencies at 100Hz and up.
  7. You need to set the LPF crossover to 80 or lower, while the high pass filter HPF crossover, which is attached to your front speakers, should be above 80. If you set the HPF's and not the low pass filters you will not get any bass because it will be turned off. I cross at 80 LPF and 125 HPF with slopes of 12. The LPF prevents sounds above the crossover point. So for your subwoofer, anything above 80 will be phased out. This lets your sub only be a sub which is what you want. The HPF prevents sounds below the crossover point and protects your front speakers from blowing because of too m
  8. Yes, for me it is auto playing but in shuffle mode so new song each time. Also, Pandora now pops up on page 2. What still does not work: Siri commands, phone functionality and messaging. Maps work once destination is loaded.
  9. Connection must be USB1 and do you have the updated software? Check on Pioneer site, and if 1.10 is the original software, it did not include CarPlay until it was updated when the November 2014 release came out.
  10. I want to thank Edwin and several others on this thread who suggested changing the lighting cable. This simple fix appears to have solved my problems. I had bought a special lightning cable that was for increased speed and audio and was dubbed apple certified but does seem to be the cause of my problems. I had tried a different lightning cable earlier and it didn't work I think because I did not restart car and reset everything. This time when I reset everything, Carplay is working all the time now. Hope it holds, and what a relief!
  11. Interesting, when the wires failed, what happened?
  12. I have the 4000, but I believe the settings are the same. There are "speaker output" settings where you can adjust the output of all the speakers including the sub. There is also a Sub on/off setting, so make sure, obviously that is turned on. You can also adjust the high and low pass filters, and even the slope.
  13. Thank you for the effort, but what you have described is the reset function of the NEX Unit. I have done that several times, in fact, I do that once every 6 months or so because it seems to help the unit function better because it does reset everything and is like rebooting the phone or PC. However, it did not fix my issues with CarPlay the two times I tried it.
  14. This has been my experience exactly. Sometimes it works, most the time it does not even when I turn car off, reset the Pioneer unit, turn carplay off and on via the unit, and the phone, even restoring iPhone seems useless etc. etc., I have a iPhone 6 running 8.3 with the NEX 4000.
  15. Possible Solution: I had been strugglling with the Siri issues/no music as well and tried everything, ie full restore of iphone, reset of Pioneer, turning Carplay off and on on the iPhone and on the Pioneer and nothing worked. Then I tried one more thing that seems to have fixed it. I turned off Bluetooth on my iphone, reset the phone, and it is now working for me most of the time. I did this about two weeks ago and Siri is popping up speaking and listening whenever I go to phone, or messages or Maps etc. Even Hey Siri works sometimes. When it doesnt work, I reset the phone and that s
