  1. At least once a month I have to re-activate my SiriusXM on my AVIC-8000NEX. Is this a software bug or a hardware problem?
  2. Hi, Been using my AVIC-8000NEX for a while. Sometimes when I want to send SD video to the rear screens, the option appears greyed out (along with mirror and USB). DVD still works. Other times they all appear fine. No idea what is going on, but frankly it seems like a ridiculous bug.
  3. My problems with Carplay are mostly Apple's fault. (1) There are no CarPlay "apps" to support in-built radio functions. So you want to listen to XM? Go back out of Carplay to do so. Same with rear video entertainment, etc. (2) They seem to pick and choose who gets to make a Carplay app. So Overcast got to make a podcast app, but no other maps app? Anyway, maybe someone will jailbreak Carplay to create new Carplay apps. But, like I said before, it will take some time before there is enough critical mass to do it.
  4. I'd use it through AppRadio if it wasn't a pain in the ass. Anyway, CarPlay will be more and more important as the carmakers finally start rolling it out - so Waze will eventually get with the program. Right now I'd imagine that the numbers aren't there.
  5. So actually the music entirely stops whenever I am in reverse, no matter what the source... If you are making a multi-point turn, it will drive you nuts as it comes on and off.

So I just did an auto-EQ in my minivan - front speakers were both determined to be 137 inches away with rears being roughly right (about 10 inches too much) So I just took out a tape measure and changed the numbers. But honestly it is a bit embarassing to mess up that badly. Now I need to go find an SPL meter since I can't trust the auto-EQ at all.
  7. So the upgraded sound system has an Infinity amplifier that requires digital control of the fader function. I just ran wires from the head unit to the rear speakers and use the AVIC amp. Not ideal, but it works.
  8. 1. I really don't want to be interrupted with texts when I am driving - is there a way to turn this off? 2. When I switch into reverse and the camera comes on, the music stops from Carplay. What is up with that?
  9. So we got everything running in my Chrysler except the built in VES dvd player. It has RCAs that feed up to the headunit from lower in the dash that output video and audio. But they are dead. Tested with the AVIC and an external screen. Okay - so it must be the player. But it works fine with the uConnect headunit. Even stranger, another person I've been in touch with has both a Kenwood and 8000NEX as he considers between them and the unit works fine with the Kenwood but not the Pioneer. Any ideas?
  10. Here is where the PAC SWI states that the VR button won't work: http://pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=1016&CategoryID=29
  11. Hi everyone, I just had installed an 8000 with a PAC interface. Unfortunately, I didn't know that the PAC doesn't seem to support the front voice and phone buttons with the Pioneer. The Chrysler has rear buttons that work fine with it. So, first question, is that correct? Can I get the voice and phone buttons to work with the Pioneer unit? If not, then, the next question is do the other options work better? I read a lot of complaints about the iDatalink, mostly related to the pre-1.08 firmware update. Does it work well now? Thanks!
