  1. Pioneer = Major BS! Had the 8000NEX a year now. No one is more frustrated than me about the whole.. It does this and that and this and that. Never felt so screwed over. Last year had an S5, no go. Now I have an S6 with Mirrorlink functionality, guess what.. no go. Shit should just work. Bought the CD AH200 kit and that did nothing. Had removed and reinstalled the HU so many times the screw holes are stripping out. USB1...oh use USB2? OK. All I can do is bluetooth music using Pandora. Could have spent half the money on a cheaper unit to BT. Would be great to be able to control the phone by the
  2. Sorry to gripe, and thank you so much for your help..but I gotta say, Pioneer pisses me off for advertising the capabilities of the 8000 and not delivering without having to go through so much to get some things to work. $1000 mistake and its all my fault for not researching well enough. They got me once, never again.
  3. To answer some of the above listed resolutions...NO, Still does not work in usb2. My dilemma is the APPS button does nothing. Started ARU, connect bluetooth, then cable. Press APPS.... zip zero nada
  4. Same here, buggy keyboard. Man, what a world of shit this product is. Zero quality control. Never buying Pioneer again. Spent so many hours messing with this damn thing.
  5. Oh crap, my s5 is hooked to usb1. I will try usb2 as my apps wont work. Dont know how many times the connectors on my dash can handle disconnecting/connecting lol. I tried the fw 1.08 and NOW my keyboard in maps SUCKS! I have to stare at whats being pressed because it takes several tries to enter one damn letter. So pissed, waste of a grand.
  6. I am running ARU. I have the phone connected by bt, hdmi and usb on usb1. I have the Pioneer kit with the MHL adapter and cables. It seems as though the very small icon on the phone for ARU being connected does not light up.
  7. RESOLVED! Not sure what happened but here is what I did. Re-formatted the SD card on a different windows pc running xp. The other was a windows 8.1 not sure if that is the reason. Re-downloaded the firmware and copied the decompressed folder to the card. Loaded the sd card into the 8000 and it worked. Low and behold, my APPS button on my screen still does nothing. I will search elsewhere in this site for help. Perhaps since my S5 is NOT rooted is the reason.
  8. Thanks for the input. The folder is named Avic5000nex. Maybe if I rename it to avic8000nex it will work. I dont know why this isnt easy.
  9. Getting super frustrated with this head unit between the apps or app radio and firmware update process.I followed pioneers instructions for the firmware update to the T. I made sure the card was formatted to fat 32 and made sure only the update folder was on the SD card. Went through the procedure on the head unit and I get an error that says "please connect a USB flash drive or SD card containing only the correct update file then press Continue to begin." I confirmed there is nothing else on this SD card, what am I doing wrong? By the way, the whole purpose of me updating from 1.0 3 is I hear
  10. I would. Im pretty angry about buying cables I didnt or shouldn't have bothered with.
  11. Wow, no replies with help. That stinks. I just spent the $50 for the MHL, HDMI, etc kit, hooked it up and NOTHING! Not even screen mirroring. I will recheck my connections again. I was really hoping there would be many more S5 users out there and this forum would be of some help. Guess we are alone lol.
  12. Ok, my problem was I plugged the camera cable into the yellow connector instead of the brown connector on the back of the HU. I should have read the instructions better.
  13. Sounds a little like a question I have. I cant bluetooth pandora from my galaxy s5 to the 8000 while my ipod is plugged in. I have to unplug the ipod.
  14. Hello all, Having trouble with the backup cam. When shifting to reverse, the screen switches to the backup screen fine...then the darn Caution image may be reversed pops up and blacks out the camera. Annoying. Cant figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  15. I did this whole procedure on my 8000. It works almost perfectly. Before the bypass, the warning came up every time. After the bypass, once in a while, it pops up. "System detected that the parking brake wire has not been connected properly" Maybe it is expecting a change on the parking brake wire. Somehow, it knows I grounded the wire.
